CLASSES AT CTC

As part of our mission to educate and inspire, we frequently hold classes for both children and adults to learn acting, creative drama, dance, and more.

Winter 2025 Classes Offered at Chattanooga Theatre Centre

One day per week for eight weeks -January 13 - March 7

  • Through games and creative play, we’ll build a play together by adding characters, places, plots, problems, and resolutions to create a story we will act out using our bodies, voices, and imaginations.

    Tuesdays, 4:45PM-5:5:45PM, January 14-March 4

  • Step into the shoes of another person. A dynamic performance starts with a believable character. Through improvisation, scripts, and theatre exercises, you will learn the techniques to create characters that come to life on the stage or screen.

    Ages 8 – 9 years

    Mondays,  January 13-March 3, 5:00PM-6:30PM

  • Need to prepare a monologue for a school audition? We can help. We’ll give you individualized help in choosing a monologue, coach you to bring out your best performance of it, and video it so you can send it to the school.

    Includes:

    • Picking a monologue

    • Coaching

    • Video recording the monologue

    Times to be arranged

Winter Dance Classes Offered

Dance classes are taught by Lindsay Fussell, choreographer of many Chattanooga Theatre Centre productions, including (but not limited to) “La Cage Aux Folles,” “The Music Man,” “Mary Poppins,” “Something Rotten, The Musical!” and most recently “Peter Pan, the Musical” in addition to her many off-site credits. 

  • Tuesdays, January 14- March 4, 5:45-6:45p

    If you’ve every wanted to tap your troubles away, but didn’t know how, this beginning level tap dance class is for you! Tap shoes required.

    $100 (for eight week session)

  • Wednesdays, January 15-March 5, 6:20PM-7:20PM

    Class consists of more advanced tap skills, including, but not limited to time steps, maxie fords, wings and pull backs tap shoes required.

    Learn the basics of the different dance styles  used in Broadway musicals.
