Improvisation

 This class will demonstrate the fun rules of improv and the creation of narrative scenes . 

 In this class students will learn how to be present in the moment, how to co-create improv scenes and play improv games along the way.

Katie Campassi (Education Assistant) has her B.A. in Theatre, Cum Laude, from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has performed professionally throughout the southeast in theatre and film. Katie has taught a wide variety of ages, from preschool to adult, for the past eight years. She is also a makeup artist, singer, guitar player, and fitness enthusiast. 

Jerry Bowman is an actor, improviser and mime and has performed, improvised and mimed around the U.S. and Canada. Jerry’s background in Improv stems back to working under Rex Knowles and Sherry Landrum whom lead the Theater Department at Chattanooga State. Since then Jerry has studied with Keith Johnstone, the guys at Dad’s Garage Theater in Atlanta and even performed with Wayne Brady in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Jerry is also in the Chattanooga Theatre Center’s touring show for the very young under the direction of Chuck Tuttle. Mr. Bowman is currently working as a partner with TVA writing and acting in training films. Once in a while you’ll see Jerry in commercials and even at the Tennessee Aquarium in a video as part of the top minnow exhibit.
