The Chattanooga Theatre Centre is delivering summer fun with large doses of creativity at our popular Summer Academy. Your choice of nearly 20 sessions in acting, sketch comedy, musical theatre, dance, and more. Age-appropriate classes for rising grades 1-12. Sessions run June 5 through August 4. Spend your summer at the CTC!
A minimum of five students must be enrolled for each class to be held.
This summer, your child will get to explore storytelling, characters, team work, empathy, and creativity as they put together a one of a kind performance fashioned around an exciting theme! In class, we play age-appropriate theatre games, use our bodies to create animals and other characters, hear stories and act them out. All of our activities are designed to build on their active imaginations while guiding them towards an understanding of how to portray characters in a story. A short performance will be presented on the last day.
An aquatic adventure awaits, just below the surface of a good story. Will it be about mermaids, or sea monsters, or sharks? Only you can discover that!
Unicorns, dragons, phoenixes, fairies? Elves?? Any and all magical creatures are welcome to go on this magical adventure!
Imagine the wildest place imaginable… then imagine what lives there! Could make for a great story, huh?
All of the princesses of fairytale land have come together in one epic story… what do you think happens next??
A magical creature has granted you three wishes… What do you wish for? Money? Fame? The biggest bouncy house ever?
There’s a mystery afoot- We must find out who’s done it, but first we must find out, what have they done??
Work with others to choose themes, develop characters, and improvise ideas to create short plays from concept to performance. The class culminates in a presentation of work.
