Creative Drama

Our classes for young children build on their active imaginations while guiding them toward an understanding of what it takes to act in a play. This process has three steps: the use of body, voice and imagination; the development of characters; and the understanding of how stories go together.

Acting Characters

Using theatre games and exercises, students will build characters and develop skills to tell the character’s story on stage.

Practice to Performance

Instructor: Annie Collins

Using the rehearsal process, students will work together to prepare a play for performance. They will learn the skills required to develop characters, build an ensemble, and engage the audience. A small performance for family and friends will culminate this class. Please come prepared to inform the instructor of any conflicts on the first day of class.

Acting Shakespeare

Instructor: Lindsey Wills

Considered by most theatre scholars as the best playwright in history, William Shakespeare’s play have been produced continuously since their writing. This class will de-mystify Shakespeare’s language, explore his rich characters, and work with some of Shakespeare’s greatest plays.

Acting for Adults

Acting with Tennessee Williams

Instructor: Lindsey Wills

Tennessee Williams was one America’s greatest playwrights. Though best known for his full length plays, he also wrote many wonderful short plays. This class will explore, rehearse, and perform plays from his canon of short works.
