The Sleeping Beauty: Act III & New Works

With fairy-tale charm and imperial grandeur, the romantic story of The Sleeping Beauty inspired Tchaikovsky to create some of his most glorious music. Chattanooga Ballet brings Act III – Aurora’s Wedding to life in a new staging by Company Artistic Director, Andrew Parker, based on the original Marius Petipa choreography, performed worldwide for over a century. This famous and beloved ballet features the endearing characters of Princess Aurora, Prince Desire and the magical Lilac Fairy along with Red Riding Hood and Puss in Boots. This inspiring and entertaining program of classical and contemporary ballet opens with The Sleeping Beauty and following intermission, features bold new works by Alia Kache, Karen Smith, Joellen Wojtowicz as well as the world premiere of Nashville dance creator, Andrea Vierra Greene’s Layers of Sight.
