Utilizing their natural creativity and imagination, this class allows young children to create characters and stories while learning the essential tools of acting.
Learn the basics of acting through a variety of fun games and exercises. This class is active and students will use their bodies and voices each week to create and act out characters. Team work is emphasized and students will have the opportunity to create improv scenes, pantomime scenes, and skits based off of poetry. This class is perfect for both true beginners and those who have some experience.
Practice auditioning for stage and screen while learning comedic and dramatic monologues. This course will also cover an in depth look at characters and their goals, obstacles, and tactics. Students will work together on scenes from plays and learn how to act with a partner.
(Pre-requisite: Acting I or consent of instructor)
This course teaches the standard techniques required for using the body and voice to communicate a character’s intentions to the audience. Topics such as movement, improvisation, goals, obstacles, and tactics will be taught in this class.
Learn about acting, directing, and the business of the film industry using smart phone technology. Topics will include techniques for acting on camera, self-tapes, finding and working with agents, and how to direct and edit a filmed scene. Professional guest artists will visit throughout the session and speak on a variety of topics.
