Rising Kindergarten – 1st Grade

 

Creative Drama
June 1-5; July 6-10

Half Day: 9:00AM-Noon

Our classes for young children are designed to build on their active imaginations while guiding them towards an understanding of how to portray characters in a story. In class, we play age-appropriate theatre games, use our bodies to create animals and other characters, hear stories and act them out. The week culminates in a short presentation.

Rising 1st – 3rd Grades

Stories to Stage

Extended Day, 9:00AM – 3:00PM       $225 per week

Theatre is storytelling through action and word. Every story is an adventure, and every adventure has a story. Our classes allow young  people to act out adventures in a structured and nurturing environment, while teaching the fundamentals of stage work.

 

June 8-12          Exotic Animals

Explore the world of strange creatures and tell their stories.

 

June 15-19        Picture to Performance

Make your own picture with paper, pen, and crayon, then act it out with friends and imagination.

 

June 22-26      Classic Fairytales

Explore worlds of princess, witches, and animals that talk.

 

July 13-17         Tales of Fire and Ice

Come make magic in lands with snow princesses and fire-breathing dragons.

 

July 20-24         Magical Realms

Make magical realms come to life where wizards live and unicorns roam.

 

July 27-31          The Royal Jungle

Join the kingdom of the animals in the royal jungle.

 

August 3-7         The Bear went over the Mountain

When the bear went over the mountain what did it find? Stories and adventure.

 

 

Rising  4th – 6th Grades

Full Day, 9AM – 4PM

If you want to learn more about how to get an audience to laugh, this is the place for you. Learn the craft of how to make funny happen in this two-week excursion into sketch and stand-up comedy

This intensive workshop combines actor training that emphasizes physical and mental preparation with the practical experience of working on a short play from audition to performance.

July 6-10             Puppetry Workshop

Using papier-mâché and other construction techniques, create your own hand puppet character, whether magical, monstrous or fanciful, then show it off in a short puppet play created by the class.

One week $275       

 

July 6-10             Singing for Musicals

A musical theatre song is not just sung, it is also acted. Work with a musical director, and a song styling coach to learn how to make your singing dynamic and emotional.

One Week $350   

 

August 3-7          Theatre Games

five days of play with a purpose. Theatre games are used to teach the valuable skills of stage work such as team building, communication, and focus.

The Greatest Show

Three  Weeks!

           Four Teams!

Who can make the greatest show?

Be part of a team competing to create a 15 minute musical. You and your team members are the playwrights, directors, choreographers, actors, designers, and stage crew. Teams will be assembled by our instructors to provide a balance of experiences and interests making sure each team has the diverse abilities required to make a play. Other theatrical challenge events will be assigned during the session. The final productions will be adjudicated on the last performance to see which one is the greatest show.

Performances on Friday, July 31, at 10:30AM & 5:00 p.m.

Admission to the performances is $5. Each student will receive two complimentary tickets.

Are You Ready to

Dance

Choreographer Lindsay Fussell will teach jazz, tap, and theatre dance. For older students, she’ll throw in some hip-hop, salsa, and swing!

One Week, half-day sessions June 1-5     $125
