A STATEMENT FROM THE CHATTANOOGA THEATRE CENTRE

In the wake of the tragic events in Charlottesville and the public response that has followed, the Chattanooga Theatre Centre reaffirms our commitment to creating theatre experiences that are meaningful and accessible to all members of the community. We believe in diversity, inclusion, equity, and harmony and embrace the role the arts play in uplifting those values.

We are dedicated to ensuring that all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, abilities, socio-economic status, or country of origin, are welcome participants in the artistic vitality of the community.

It is the essence of the American theatre to share the stories that unite us and create a space for shared experience. Theatre excels at taking life experiences that bewilder us and finding meaning and truth. These are vital contributions in troubling times.

The Chattanooga Theatre Centre is committed to pursuing opportunities to promote diversity in the works we bring to the stage, the people who inhabit those roles, the audiences we welcome through our doors, and the leadership that steers us toward equity and inclusion.

It is our sincere hope that all who seek a creative home, that all who seek a place to belong, will find that at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre.
