Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and the Grand Illumination Celebration

Friday, November 28 - 6:00 p.m.

How better to banish the “Bah! Humbug!” of a day’s shopping than to mix a presentation of A Christmas Carol with the excitement of Chattanooga’s Grand Illumination.

The curtain goes up earlier than usual at the CTC – 6:00 p.m. – so our audience can enjoy the parade of lighted boats at 7:00 during intermission from the comfort of the Theatre Centre patio that looks out on the Tennessee River. Following the conclusion of the memorable second act of Christmas Carol, gather in the warmth of the Theatre Centre lobby to enjoy holiday snacks and watch the fireworks finale that concludes the Grand Illumination celebration across the River.

You don’t even have to worry about parking – parking is free in the adjoining lot for theatre patrons.

Barnes & Noble Bookfair

November 28, 29, 30

It's the biggest shopping weekend of the year, and you and your friends and family can help the Chattanooga Theatre Centre in a big way when shopping at the new Barnes & Noble store in Hamilton Place Thanksgiving Weekend. Pick up a voucher at the CTC Box Office, or just mention CTC and promo code 366997 when making a purchase at Barnes & Noble, and Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of the money to your Theatre Centre. Anyone can use them. It won't cost you any extra, and we get the benefit! CTC casts will be performing scenes from A Christmas Carol and Disney's Alice In Wonderland, Jr. from time to time during that weekend, so come by and join in the fun. Dates are November 28, 29 and 30. Store hours are 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sunday. It's that holiday shopping time of year and your Chattanooga Theatre Centre needs all the support we can get. Thank you, and "God Bless Us, Every One!"

Special Dedication

Friday, December 5 - 7:00 p.m.

As many of you know, Sonia Young (our beloved "Purple Lady") has been a tireless supporter of our Chattanooga Theatre Centre for many years. In addition, 25 years ago James K. Steakley (Kit Steakley's father) and Meyer Winer (Sonia Young's father) were instrumental in founding what is today our Youth Theatre.

Because of the dedication of these individuals, and countless other supporters and volunteers, we have one of the strongest and most vibrant youth theatres going. So, on Friday, December 5 at 7:00 PM, we honor Sonia and Mel Young with the dedication of the Sonia Young Rehearsal Studio while we also honor James K. Steakley and Meyer Winer with the dedication of the James K. Steakley/Meyer Winer Youth Theatre.

Rehearsal Room One will now be the Sonioa Young Rehearsal Studio and a special alcove in the Circle Lobby will honor James K. Steakly and Meyer Winer.

We're painting a special tree in that alcove where the "leaves" will represent individual donations to the Youth Theatre.

Come witness this dedication and then stay for the opening night performance of Disney's Alice In Wonderland, Jr. - the curtain is at 7:30 PM.

Christmas with Charles Dickens: A Victorian Christmas Feast

Sunday, December 7 - 6:30 p.m.

Share an elaborately prepared and elegantly served Victorian Christmas dinner with friends at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre as the MainStage lobby is transformed into a setting where Dickens (and his spirited friend, Ebenezer Scrooge) would have felt right at home.

Victorian carolers and other entertainments highlight the evening.

Tickets are $75 and includes cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres, a five course dinner catered by Events with Taste, wine with dinner, and entertainment. Dress is "Festive Holiday Attire."

It's the perfect Christmas gift!

(please note: A ticket to A Christmas Carol is not included in the price.)

The Fezziwig Family Feast, including tickets to Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

Friday, December 12, and 19 - 6:30 p.m.

Join Mr. & Mrs. Fezziwig (former employer of the young Ebenezer Scrooge) for a delightful evening as they celebrate the season with a party for their friends.

Enjoy a casual dinner. Play parlor games with the cast members from A Christmas Carol in period dress. Have your photo taken with the Fezziwigs. Then travel with carolers from the dining hall to the MainStage theatre, where you will be seated as “The Fezziwig Party” front and center in the best seats in the house to enjoy A Christmas Carol.

It’s ideal for holiday gatherings for church, business, civic, and tour groups – and for families who enjoy making merry!

Tickets are $35 per person and include dinner and admission to A Christmas Carol.

A limited number of tickets to the event are available.

Alice’s Tea Party

Saturday, December 13 - 4 p.m.

After the Saturday performance of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Jr., share a cup of tea with Alice and all the characters from Wonderland at a tea party given in your honor. But make sure you don’t lose your head – the Queen of Hearts is sure to be there!

Tickets are $15 for one and $25 for two and includes the tea party and tickets to the show. Space is limited.
